These meetings are designed to provide clarity around how attendance is tracked, what is required by state and district policy, and how families can stay informed and supported. Two North of the Broad Teachers Receive Surprise Recognition with State Awards for Student Growth

Two educators who taught at Whale Branch Middle last year were surprised at a Board of Education meeting, hearing the news that they will be receiving significant state-funded awards recognizing their outstanding teaching that led to measurable student academic growth.

Board of Education schedules community public forums for 2026-27 budget plans
The first forum will be at Battery Creek High School at 6 p.m., Wednesday, January 14. The second will be at Bluffton High School at 6 p.m., Wednesday, January 21.  
BCSD hosting virtual and in-person recruiting events for educators
There are two recruiting events taking place as 2026 kicks off:
 
  • Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the District Office at 2900 Mink Point Boulevard in Beaufort.
  • Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Bluffton High School located at 12 H.E. McCracken Circle in Bluffton.
BCSD Choice program applications available online Nov. 10; deadline to apply is Jan. 15
Over 90% of BCSD schools are rated excellent, good, or average

Beaufort County School District Celebrates Groundbreaking of May River Elementary School

The 113,000-square-foot facility will serve up to 800 students and is scheduled to open for the 2027–2028 school year.
