About Us

Welcome to Beaufort Middle School where we support and assist all students in developing the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through a focus on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. This focus assists students in developing qualities of character, interpersonal skills, and self-direction. 

BMS is an Arts in the Basic Curriculum School, and the Distinguished Arts Program designation provides grant funding to integrate the arts. Artists-in-residence, including collaboration with the Pat Conroy foundation, provide opportunities to support arts integration in writing, visual arts, and media arts.  

In addition to the arts-integrated program, BMS is adding Project Lead the Way STEM courses for 2021-22 and will participate in a STREAM/STEM integration grant entitled MedTech-7, which will focus on pre-medical biomedical academies. Integrating STREAM will complement our instructional solid program and take teaching and learning to the next level to afford opportunities for all students.

In all aspects of learning, every student is encouraged to achieve at the highest level. Through quality standards-based instruction, a faculty reflective of highly qualified diverse professionals, and a culture of collaboration, our program addresses the needs of the whole child. It prepares students to become 21st Century leaders.
