WELCOME TO BEAUFORT MIDDLE SCHOOL

At Beaufort Middle School, we are committed to elevating every student, every day. Our mission is to develop the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate through a strong focus on critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. These foundational skills—combined with character development, self-direction, and interpersonal growth—equip our students to thrive as 21st-century leaders.

As an Arts in the Basic Curriculum (ABC) School and recipient of the Distinguished Arts Program grant, BMS integrates the arts meaningfully across all subjects. Our students benefit from artist-in-residence opportunities, including partnerships with the Pat Conroy Literary Center, that enrich learning through writing, visual arts, and media arts.

BMS is proud to offer AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a nationally recognized academic support program that empowers students to succeed in rigorous coursework and prepare for college and career opportunities. AVID is embedded into our school culture as a way to nurture determination, academic excellence, and a mindset for future success.

In partnership with the MedTech-7 STREAM/STEM grant, our school also engages students in medical exploration learning experiences. This integration takes teaching and learning to the next level, inspiring curiosity, innovation, and real-world connections.
